On Friday and Saturday (March 24th/25th) we had the batches of the coming summer semester as our guests in Munich. The aim was to get to know each other better and, if necessary, to discuss one or two items in the semester program. Of course, it was also a welcome opportunity to call the other Old Boys of the Black Forest together in Munich and see each other again.
So on Friday our Bbr. Jonas Rieger x, Stefan Fehrenbach v/o Typ xx, Friedrich Lagier FM, Jannik Bollack v/o Alf xxxx and Antonius Nies xxx traveled to Munich and were able to stock up on the essentials in the city. These included cigars from Dallmayr and a gingerbread heart "For my princess", so that all the clichés were met. We then met for dinner at the Philistersenior, where Bbr. Markus Balb v/o Häberle, Tilman Bastin v/o Paul and Alexander Wunsch v/o Haribo were able to join us. The official agenda was concluded that evening and after destroying considerable quantities of Giesinger Bräu the guests were distributed to various (AH) houses.
The next morning we met again at the location of the night's events to do a white sausage tasting with the ladies and children (Martina and Lea Hecker as well as Rebekka Mammel and Valentin Balb). The purpose was to assess the quality of white sausages from different origins and price ranges in a blind test and to choose the deserved winner. Surprisingly, the very cheap product from Aldi, together with a local butcher, won out against another butcher. And this at 50% of the price.
Afterwards, we had to make use of the wonderful weather and, with what felt like half of Munich, we went to the English Garden to gather more strength. In addition to important facts about culture and art history, which Häberle was familiar with thanks to his son's local history and general knowledge lessons, the quality of Munich's beers was also examined at the Chinese Tower. Thus strengthened, we briefly went through the city center (the cigars were running low) and back to Trudering.
In the evening we all met again in the Osteria La corte dell'Angelo, where Steffi Bastin and Sybille also joined us. In addition to the good Italian food, the host welcomed us into the circle of friends of the guests (thanks to Häberle) and we noticed that all the guests had obviously been coming here for around 14 years. There was also singing and it seemed like someone had a birthday, but this was almost lost in the general applause.
So our groups started their journey home late in the evening and we old boys were looking forward to Sunday, which is known to be a day of relaxation.
In summary, the visit fully achieved its goal and we were able to welcome a committed and very motivated group of charge cabinet members. The fact that during the visit we received the news that the Fuxenstall would be the inaugural pub and would then grow to 8 Füxe (sic!) also contributed to the good mood. With the enthusiasm shown, I look forward to the coming semesters with joy and am looking forward to another vivat, crescat et floreat Black Forest.
