Hen party (3 June)
On the evening before the civil wedding, the Fischer and Ziegler families insisted on saying goodbye to us with a small bridal shower. Fortunately, this event had not been made known to the general public, so there was relatively little rubbish and we had a drink afterwards. However, we couldn't avoid dressing up and the obligatory sweeping.
Civil marriage
The next morning, our parents from Münster and the maid of honour Beate from Bielefeld arrived. Our journey to the registry office was more exciting than we had expected due to a boycott by the MVV (the bus didn't come), but we got to the registry office on Mandlstrasse on time by taxi. The civil wedding was the last wedding that Friday. The mood of the officials present was accordingly, as they felt the weekend was already within reach. Within just a quarter of an hour, the whole show was over and we were released as married couples. Actually, "kicked out" would be the right verb, because the door was quickly locked behind us.
After the ceremony in the registry office, we walked the few meters to the English Garden, where good friends had already prepared the chilled champagne. Of course, there was the obligatory shower, but it couldn't spoil the mood. Naturally, almost all of the guests had left their umbrellas in their cars and optimistically sought shelter under the trees. However, this shelter was only of temporary use and in the end Crifi plucked up the courage and used the only umbrella available from Häberle to get a selection of other umbrellas.
Celebration at the inn “Zur Post”
In the evening we met our guests in Daglfing at the "Zur Post" inn. Over the course of the evening, one or two cold drinks were served up and some were happy to be able to use public transport. Fortunately, the curfew that is otherwise strictly enforced in Munich was lifted for us and we were able to celebrate until late at night. Unfortunately, most of the celebration had to take place indoors due to the mediocre weather, but the beer garden was available for the reception and the dessert buffet.
We must have got home sometime between three and four o'clock. We had very competent help with the photographic and film documentation from Sybille, Michael, Claudia and Beate, for whom we would like to thank them again. In this context, it should not be forgotten that the first photo album could already be viewed that evening. The next set of pictures was admired the next day at lunchtime at the Viktualienmarkt.
