Today we are woken up by the sounds of the animals, especially the unusual bird calls. They are already at the waterhole early in the morning, where a small herd of impalas and a few wild boars come later. We treat ourselves to breakfast on the veranda and Marco gives us tips for a short hike around the farm grounds. It gets warm quickly and so we decide to only take the 3 km option, the elephant shrew path. After all, we don't want to set any records, but with a bit of luck we want to spot some game. While one half besieges the pool, the other sets off and we are actually lucky enough to see some wild animals: kudus, oryx antelopes and many species of birds, e.g. yellow-billed hornbills, run in front of our binoculars and camera lenses.

However, the heat quickly increases, so we all meet up at the pool around midday and do the things that have been left undone over the last few days because of the busy schedule. At three o'clock we have coffee and pastries and half an hour later we have booked the game viewing trip. We set off punctually with Marco and another couple in the open off-road vehicle towards the wilderness. In search of game, we go over hill and dale and through the dry riverbed - all to the great applause of the children, who clearly enjoy the rollercoaster ride without seat belts. In terms of game viewing, we also find something: we spot oryx, springbok, waterbuck, impala, kudu, ostrich and even a wildebeest. There are also small attractions such as yellow-billed hornbills, guinea fowl, hares and bats after dark.
We can watch the sunset and enjoy a sundowner on a raised viewing hill, made from the waste from the reservoir we dug ourselves. Back at the farm we all meet around the campfire and Marco fries oryx steaks for us.
