The morning wake-up call is a little later than normal, at 6:30 a.m. This is because we arrived late the day before, but we only have a quick wash and breakfast at sunrise ahead of us. Then it's back into the safari vehicle and hunting for photo opportunities. However, Option warns us in advance that morning sightings are rare and after our luck yesterday, the bush is probably deserted. In fact, shortly after we set off, a self-driver comes towards us and they haven't seen any animals in the past hour.
Clearly a case of blindness, because a few hundred meters later the first giraffes appear, followed by zebras and elephants. We have already got used to impalas, but then we also discover hippos and lechwes, a type of antelope, in a tributary of the Okavango. Kudus appear and the very active birds spoil us with their song and sometimes overwhelming colors. Among them are also an eagle and vultures. In summary, we are very lucky again and, satisfied with our haul, take a break at the "Third Bridge" camp.
From there we head back to our Mboma camp, where brunch awaits us: lasagne with salads and fruit and muffins for dessert. After that it's not just the animals' midday nap, but also ours, and then our team heats up water for us over the fire so we can shower. A shower in the bush, a shave in front of the tent and then coffee and tea with a view over the savannah - what more could you want?

The evening game drive is once again a complete success: in addition to the usual suspects, we discover a group of guinea fowl, a family of elephants and an old wildebeest buck who - after being chased away by younger bulls - has joined a herd of impalas. This strange symbiosis is remarkable and combines the best skills of both species in one group.
The highlight, however, is once again the kings of the animals, the lions. Two males and a female are lying around a termite mound and are discovered by Crifi. Option guides us unerringly to within 5 m of them and we can observe them at length. Finally, the group stands up, eyes us suspiciously and retreats into the bush.
Then we have a sundowner in a clearing with good visibility and then we head back to camp. At the "Bushman TV", the campfire, we review the day's experiences before dinner. The beef fillet with mashed potatoes, cauliflower and green beans is topped off with a caramelized cheesecake and we wonder again how our cook Lethi can prepare these delicacies on the campfire far away from any civilization.
At 10 p.m. we head to the tents because we have another early game drive scheduled for tomorrow before we have to leave the park.
Weather: very warm, 30 degrees, but windy and therefore very pleasant.
