The following week saw the Wipro Leadership Program (WLP), which included management training and informative presentations about Wipro. The first three days were marked by typical, more or less interesting presentations.
One highlight should be highlighted: the yoga session. At the end of the program there was a one-day introduction to yoga and similar techniques, which I think you have to be born for. We actually sat on towels in the room, bent over and mumbled "Ooohhhmmmm" - definitely not my thing, but for some it was emotionally draining. When we then symbolically piled up love and distributed it amongst ourselves, my understanding of the whole thing was finally at an end...
The two days outside Bangalore in the Pegasus Camp are also worth mentioning. The journey there alone takes several hours and leads over bumpy roads past totally impoverished villages. The camp itself is relatively well equipped, so there were showers and even warm water (in tubs). The tents were OK and could sleep eight people each. This also means that there are at least three snorers and earplugs are mandatory.
During the day, management techniques were combined with physical exertion, so that we had to, for example, complete a paramilitary obstacle course as a team, abseil down 10m high rock faces or put up tents blindfolded. In this context, it should be mentioned that the camp was founded by former members of the special forces of the Indian military. In Germany, all of these activities would probably be banned due to a lack of security measures.
Back in Bangalore, Sunday was dedicated to sightseeing so that we could see a bit of Bangalore itself. The week has been filled with meetings so far and this will continue until tomorrow afternoon. Fortunately, we have a driver permanently available who will take us to the offices we want and also ensure a safe journey home in the evening. It is very nice that he will take us to Mysore tomorrow, where we will stay until Saturday. Then we have another Sunday for Bangalore and shopping before we head back to Germany and the cold.
